MATH 32B with prof. Weisbart

Anyone else think that the scores on the final exam were rediculously high? I mean over half the class got over a 90%. How is he going to distribute the final grades? I fell a few point below the median (92%) I got 88%. Does that mean I'm screwed?

Don’t worry. Weisbart is known for being VERY generous with As. Heck, probably 40% of my 33B class got solid As when I took him.

Thanks. I’m just worried because on the final I fell slightly below the median.

@Futureucladoctor: I know what you mean. I got 89/96 which translates to 92.7% (though myUCLA rounds it up to a 93). Just hoping it’s an A, but then again considering the median is 91%, I dunno.

same here, I was so surprised when I saw the final scores! Does anyone know the split between grades? i.e. percentage?

I thought he went over this a million times. He said he does curve grades if it benefits you and doesn’t if it won’t. So if you got above 90% he said he’ll give you A’s. Remeber he said he doesn’t care if everyone in the class gets A’s. Does anyone pay attention in class?

@jbuitragoper4: i know he said that, but is it a 90% or a 93% for an A? as far as i remember he said he wouldn’t “curve to harm us”. on a standard curve, isn’t 93% an A and 90% an A-? if he gives everyone with 90% and above an A, it would mean more than 50% of the class As since the median’s at 91.
