So apparently im taking math 55 with professor vojta who has one of the lowest ratings on rate my professor and after attending his first lecture, it was apparent he knew nothing or little on the subject. Does anyone have any suggestions for studying for this course if the professor is unreliable? Thanks very much, any response is much appreciated.

Read the book. Work through the problems.

Wow the threads people make these days . . . .

Vojta isn’t as bad as he seems. I had him for math 1b last year and I’m taking math 55 with him this semester too. His lectures are kind of dull, but he actually knows the stuff pretty well, he just makes a few mistakes sometimes. His lectures are taken straight from the book, so the textbook is the only resource you truly need. His tests for 1b were really straightforward and easy, so if you pay attention in lecture or just read the book carefully you’ll do fine.
