Math and Finance

Is it possible to major in both? And is it really difficult?

Its possible but yes extremely difficult. It’ll open a lot of doors though. It depends what field you want to go into.
I want to work in ib/private equity/hedge funds and I happen to babysit for an extremely rich investment banker who told me how to get in.
He said to major in accounting, not finance because finance is considered a “soft” degree. Accounting you accumulate a lot of quatitative skills and you need to be able to understand the numbers, which is essential in the business world. He said only go for finance if you are going to get an MBA, and even with that an accounting degree with an MBA would look better.
He said just because you get a degree in accounting doesnt mean you have to be an accountant but itll be much easier to get into investment banks.

The advice I got from another investment banker was to double major in accounting or finance with statistics because its a widely used field and would open a lot of doors. However, I would probably kill myself trying to do both so for that reason he said it would be very difficult.
So anyways there ya go haha
