I'm interested in studying pure maths and will most likely apply to one of NYU or Columbia. Can some people who have had experience at either or both in terms of undergraduate theoretical math give me their impressions? Thanks.

is your end game academics?

hazmat, I'm not sure I know what you mean. If you mean do I want to go into academia as a profession, the answer would be yes as of now; I'd like to do research as a professor. Please clarify your question.

Columbia and NYU both have very solid math depts, but Id give the edge to Columbia.
