Math/Econ Major at UPenn

Taken seriously by i-banks? Or overlooked in favour of the Wharton kids?

For Alexandre: in regard to your tiering of target schools, where does a non-Wharton UPenn student fit? Would a 3.5 at the College fare as well as a 3.5 from Wharton?

Yes, ibanks recruit heavily in the College as well. The selection process is much more complicated than just GPA and school name (its recruiting, not college apps). What you can show/say during your interview is probably the biggest factor in getting hired.

You don't need to graduate summa cum laude from Harvard or Wharton to get into ibanking. Now if you're talking VC/PE...

Non-Wharton Penn students are heavily recruited by IBanks. I believe last year, close to 200 mon-Wharton Penn undergrads go jobs at Ibanks. If you can maintain a good GPA (3.5+), and if you take the initiative, I'd say your chances of landing a good IBanking job would be good.
