Hi, I have a really extreme dilemma. I took the Match SAT (foolishly!) cold aka no studying whatsoever. Now I'm scared and realizing I dont have much time left for the tests!

I got a 700 on the writing and reading sections, however dropped to a 470 for math. I litterly am sick to my stomach about this! I do fine in high school math, always As with just one B... and my math score straight out SUCKS.

Any advice to radically increase this score to something like 660+??? Is it even possible?? If so how? Im willing to work!

the kind of math SAT gives resembles more of competition math such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC, ASHME and etc, but on a much easier level, rather than school-based curriculum
so i suggest to get the Art of Problem Solving (Volume 1 would be good enough) books where they teach you how to approach various basic math problems
in my opinion, after the AoPS, SAT math will be a piece of cake and would guarantee 700+
it helped me get from 650 to 800 =)
but everyone’s different, so if you can’t/dont want to get the book, then do as many practice problems in all areas of math as possible. not only from SAT, but from your school textbooks or something =)

Yes, as long as you don’t make any silly mistakes, it’s not that hard to crack 660 [ judging on your statement that you always do well in high school math ]. It’s a matter of being more accurate in your solution rather trying going for speed.

AoPS is a good book, but it’s level is a bit higher than the hardest Math SATs. You might freak out when you look at the questions because they are at the AMC level.

I suggest doing the easy-medium SAT Math questions first, making sure that you can get ALL of them right, before moving on to the tough questions. Because there are only a few difficult math questions compared to easy and medium ones, and you want to get as many right as possible.
