Math Ferris Wheel Question

What was the answer for that one? I had the general gist but had to make an educated guess

12 + 40 - 40 cos (alpha)

12+40-40cos(alpha)

try to look through the other discussion threads before makingccccccccccccccccccccccc new ones ^_^

The consensus is that it was 12+40-40 Cos (alpha). Only one that seemed logical.

Just assume angle is 90 degrees guys…then its horizontal, so the height must be radius+12.

does anyone remember what letter they put?

Agreed.

I just plugged in 90 for the angle and saw which one gave 52 (40 + 12), and then plugged in 180 for the angle and saw which one gave 92.

Answer was C or D.

C I think.

12 + 40 - 40 cos (alpha) was D.

Does anyone know if the last two choices (one of those were correct) if they both had 12+40 or if one of those choices had 12-40 because i know i put the one with 12+40 but i cant remember if i put sin or cosine!

for the matrices you just add to the same position of the other right?? for example
(5,6) (5,1)

(1,2) + (6,2) that wasnt the exact setup but would the answer be

(10,7)
(7,4)

@jka yes remember on the first few problems everything IS as easy as it seems (which tricks people out a lot :P)

ya just making sure lol, i think the reading and science are gonna have really generous curves

Aren’t we theoretically not supposed to even be talking about these questions?

@Salve: What questions?

Yeah, I used the process of elimination in addition to an educated guess, I am lucky i got that one right!

Exactly, I don’t know what these people are talking about…

does anyone remember that english question in the first part that had either a that, who, or whom answer?

i put that but i wasnt fur sure

if I remember the one your talking about correctly it’s that because it was referring to a thing not a person
