Math I vs. Math II

Do schools view them the same? Or is Math II viewed as more impressive because it's more difficult?

I'm not sure which I should take in the fall. Can you take both on the same day?

Math II is always considered superior since it is at a higher level math.

MIT says they will accept either while Caltech says they will accept only Math II and same goes for HPME program at Northwestern and some engineering schools like Duke’s Pratt.

Colleges generally display higher preference to Math Level 2 because it covers high school math up to Pre-Calculus. It is not necessary difficult if you understand the math concepts and how the test works. Math Level 1 only covers Algebra I and II and Geometry. Math Level 2 has a better curve. Some pre-calculus topics aren’t always tested rigorously in the exam, like Polar Coordinates, Conics, Vectors, etc.

I talked to an admissions officer and he said that doing math 1 AND Math II is redundant. Choose one of them
