B.3
C.5
D.6
E.12

The junior class is sponsoring a drama production to raise funds and plans to charge the same price for all admission tickets. The class has $700 in expenses for this production . A$1133
B$1833
C$2300
D$3000
E$3700

For which of the following equations is it true that the sum of the roots equals the product of the roots??

Thats all, i hope u guys answer my questions and help me out !!
Thanks in advance:)

Question 2 is easy actually. OK you need to remember that the class has $700 in expenses. If the benefit was $1100 this means that the total amount of money collected was $1100 + expenses = 1100+700 =1800. Thanks to this, we can find the price of one ticket. Since 300 tickets were sold, this means that the price of one ticket is 1800 / 300 = $6.
So if 500 tickets are sold, the class will collect 500 x 6 = $3000 from which are substracted $700 for the expenses. Therefore, the benefit, when 500 tickets are sold, is 3000-700= $2300. ( choice C )

Question 1: Is PQ the hypothenus of the triangle ? I think it is. So, to find QR you need to know that sin(angle)= opposite side / hyp which is here:

sin(P)= QR/PR <=> QR= sin(P) x PR
<=> QR= 0.5 x 6
<=> QR= 3 ( choice B )

Question 3: Could you check that there is no mistake in what you sent.

Question 4: You can try to plug in the choices and see for which one the equation has no solution. I tried and I think the answer is 2 ( b ).

Question 5: sin²(A) / cos² (A) = tan²(A)
Therfore, tan²(A)= 2.468 so tan(A)= 1.571 ( B )

Answer to #3 is C

thanks for the answers mourad :slight_smile:
that really helped -

3 is c b/c -b/a is sum and c/a is product so just plug and in see which fits

4 is b. u just have to keep the quadratic formula in mind and realize that
4ac>b^2 b/c that will make the part inside the sqrt negative
