Should I send my Math II score? It's pretty low (670). Will it count against me if I'm applying to Stern? I'm thinking of not sending it (I have 730 Chem, 740 USH, and 2100 SAT I). I'm actually quite good at math (easily acing Calc BC this year) but I just had a bad test.

If your User Name is any indication, you are not a good mathematician! Just kidding dude. But 670 in Math II is rather low, I would not send it in, especially for Stern as it would take a math test into greater consideration. If your math score was 750+ on the SAT 1 then you shouldn’t even have a need to send it in. Plus your chemistry exam shows that you can apply math practically. The only reason I say not send in the 670 in Math II is because it lies on the 57th percentile.

I was wondering whether or not I should submit my SAT II tests to NYU (stern) too, because while my MATH II test was okay (760), the other three tests I took on that testing date were low (under 700). I’m not planning on submitting my SAT score to NYU as it’s atrocious and my ACT score is much better, so would score choice allow me to only send my MATH II 760? Would it even be worth my $10 to do this if I’ve already made a 35 on the ACT math section?

Don’t send it in. It’ll work against you because your other scores portray you as smarter.

You should send the Math 2 score. It’s like asking ‘I got 2400 on the SAT and 36 on ACT, should I submit both?’ Obviously the answer is yes. You demonstrate that it wasn’t a stroke of luck and that you know your stuff.

If their policy is to use the best scores, then they’ll use what they deem your best scores. If not, then you have an edge over others because you’ve proven yourself twice.

I’ve even heard of some people getting 2400 on the SAT multiple times here in Pakistan, just so that they can demonstrate their ability. International admissions are much more competitive.

Okay (:
So I would be able to submit ONLY my math subject test and not my SAT too, right?

Yes, you can do Score Choice. Uncheck the boxes for the scores you don’t want to send. Good luck!

Personally, I think you should send it in. I sent in a 670 math II score and a 660 physics score, and I just got accepted to Stern a few weeks ago. Their policy is to send in all the scores, and they promise to look at the best ones. Now, I don’t know whether that is actually true or not, but honesty is always the best policy. also, with ap scores, do the same. It’s better to see a mediocre score than see no score at all and wonder where the score went. Best of luck!

Thanks, everyone!

Oops sorry I just read the Stern requirement wrong.
