I am applying to Stern(ED II) and i was wondering how important math2c subject test is.
For SATI, I have 2230 (CR:740, M:730, W:760) and for SATII I have 800 in
U.S.History, 770 in World History, and 800 In Korean with listening. And no, I didn't
take Math2c. I'm really worried about this because it seems like most people who got into Stern took Math2c and did well on it. Idk if this will help or not but I did get 5 on apcal in my junior year and currently taking apstat (sent my AP scores, all 5s.) So, do you guys think not having Math2c score will impact me negatively?

P.S. if you guys don't mind, can you chance me ???:)
SAT1 and SATII scores are listed above.
GPA: 9th: 3.86
10th: 4.01
11th:4.27
*very competitive public school......
I took all honors and ap classes. currently taking 5 ap classes (total of 9)

E.C. - mostly focused on music (a few awards & regional and state level )
community service ( been doing for 5years. so i'm guessing more than 300 hrs)
4 leadership positions (all presidents)
founded a community out reach program that helps underpresented and
underprivileged children.
and honor socieites and clubs that don't really matter...

oh, also I am an international student living in the states so I'll be paying the full price.
no FA. thanks :D

They said for stern applicants, they require a math sat2…:(

wait what? I thought they require you to send some kind of math score if you are not submitting SATI . but in this case I am sending in SAT I , and also a 5 on ap cal. I’m confused … can someone varify this ?
so I’m not even gonna be considered since i didn’t take math2c?

Sorry that’s what my friends at stern said. Maybe it’s because they took the math2 sat2. Sorry for scaring you.

“In addition, students who apply to the Stern School of Business need to be aware that in order to satisfy the math/science testing requirement, students who choose not to submit SAT or ACT scores must provide a score from a mathematics examination.”

You do NOT need to send in a math subject test.

To be eligible for admission, applicants are expected to submit results from one of the following testing options:

The SAT Reasoning Test; or

The ACT (with Writing Test); or

Three SAT Subject Test scores; or

Three AP exam scores; or

The International Baccalaureate Diploma; or

Three IB higher-level exam scores (if you are not an IB Diploma candidate); or

Students may instead elect to submit results from a nationally accredited exam that is considered locally to signify the completion of secondary education and is administered independently of the students school.

xbluebearrr - haha, it’s ok.
LowReach - thanks for clarifying

but do you guys think not having a math2c score will be a major disadvantage?

Probably not since you have strong math ap score and a strong math sat score!

No.

Based on the information you’ve provided, you are a decent math student. Not having a math subject test won’t play a big role in your acceptance.

Why do you want to go into business though? That’s what I am wondering since I see no business related extracurriculars.

I actually worte one of my short essays on why i wanna pursue business at NYU
it’s because of my dad. it’s quite personal but he is an entrapanuer (and now a C.E.O) and although he did face a few failures establishing his own company and everything but, growing up, I’ve always admired him for his audacity and the ability to make right decisions that will affect so many people. I also explained (one of the short answers) my interest in history and how i can apply that to business by studying at NYU stern.
I would say I’m confident in my short essays but who knows… it really depends on the person reading it. anyway… yeah thats basically why I wanna go into business. :D

So… can anyone chance me ? gahhh. i really want to get in. Stern is my dream school.
