Math II to make up for bad Math I score?

I took the Math I test in June and scored a 660, which was significantly lower than the other subject tests I took the same day. Math has just never been a strong point for me. I mean, I do better than the average person, I suppose, but not great. I really don't want that low subject test score to hurt me though. Would it be beneficial to me to study very rigourously ( I did ZERO prep for the Math I test..i actually took it on a whim)for the Math II test in hopes of earning 700+ to make up for the Math I test? Is it worth the time and effort? The other tests I took in June were Biology E and U.S. History, and I got a 770 and a 710, respectively.

Yes, you should study hard for the math II. Try to aim for 750+? Math I doesn’t have a nice curve at all, so you should definitely be able to do much, much better on the math II.

Yes, I would recommend studying for the SAT II. Actually, study for it and then take some practice tests from collegeboard (from their official math subject test book) and if you score satisfactorily then take it for real. No point taking it if you don’t think you’ll do well.

Thanks for the input! Will it look odd that I took both Math subject tests though? And I know about score choice, but my high school includes all our scores on our transcripts so theres no way to avoid sending the math I scores.

No, I don’t think they’ll think much of it xP they only start going meh if you’re retaking a 750+. Plus those are technically two different tests.
