What do you guys think is a good math ii sat ii score? i know that colleges look at other stuff (i.e. ECs, gpa, etc.), but I'm just wondering what you guys think

Shoot for 700+.

depends on your profile. If you are presenting yourself as math/science/eng, or say you want to major in econ or something pretty quantitative, at Stanford my observations are that 750+ would be needed to be competitive lacking other tips/hooks. If you are more of a humanities/govt type, 700+ is probably fine. (I know less about this side of Stanford.)

700+ okay
750+ good
800 excellent

I'd shoot for 750+ unless you have a good hook or extremely compelling essays. It also depends on the context depending on what you got in the Math section on the SAT/ACT.

I'd say for math, science or engineering you should shoot for 770+, preferably 800 because of the generous curve. For other majors a score above 700 is ok.

i have a 790 on chem and a 720 on math II, 780 on math satI and 34 on ACT. i shouldn't be worried score-wise?

ya i'd say 750+ is good. agh i have a 710 on physics. it kills me inside. but. i'm a urm.

Really, don't worry. It's fine. Stanford likes those. (Hell, MIT says that anything with a 7 in front of it is good, though some scores with a 6 in front of them are good too. In other words, shoot for above a 700 to be safe.)

I really hope URM status isn't an excuse to accept your shortcomings and not strive to improve. (Not that a 710 is a shortcoming at all.)

Realistically, unless you have a strong hook, if you are positioning yourself as math/science/eng, low 700s is not the absolute strongest profile for Stanford, but it's very applicant specific, so if you like Stanford, you should apply and see what happens. All you can do is submit your best app, and know you did all you could.

i applied SCEA, and intend on majoring in something like economics or international relations, etc... not really sure, but probably not anything math/science/eng.

I feel like I do not have enough SAT IIs. I just have Physics and Math level 2. Do you think this will hurt me? They were both 800s, but the only ones I took.

^^ no, not at all. They recommend 2.

2 is all you need for Stanford. Only a few colleges still need 3, and Stanford isn't one of them.

And you technically don't even need them.

it's not an excuse. it just relieves some of the stress. i realize i can get rejected even with URM status.

^^ tecnically that is correct, but unless you enjoy Russian roulette, I don't advise no SAT IIs for your app :)
