Math Iic Discussion Thread

What do you think I'll get for omitting 6 and getting 4-5 wrongs?

id say like 700-730, educated guess

whats 4-5 wrong?

prolly 800

Grain, your score would not be an 800, but certainly above a 730. Raw score 38-39, 750-770. Maybe a bit higher if the curve is more generous for this test.

logisticslord - OUCH!

etti - it means (I think) I made 4 or 5 mistakes

crosscurrent - I sure hope so!

theWretched - Above 730? Dang! Is a 750 for Math II good enough for top schools? I think I have a small chance of getting 800 though, cos I might have omitted 5 questions and made 2 or 3 mistakes only. But I believe the curve will be more generous this time, considering how tough the test was (or so I thought).

Anyway, anyone know the answer for the bee/wasp spreading question?

Did u do something like 2^x or something like that for the bee/wasp problem?

I got 16.6 years for that. I did it on the calculator by just doubling it till it reached the 100,000 area.

yeah the wasp problem was E, because it takes a long time to double from 1 to 100,000.

im glad they didnt put like 16.3 and 16.6 for that or something...i knew it was over all the other choices but wouldn't be sure how to get it for different decimals like that

Any other problems u guys remember that haven't been discussed yet?

if i didn't finish the last, 9, and probably got two tohers wrong, what would that give me?

im thinking 680-710 range, is that right?

No, more like 750-760'ish.

I didn't answer 1/2 of them..... which means no higher than 600?

lol.. but history ones were easy..

Grain- Remember, there is no magic number that will get you into the top schools. I have a friend, currently attending Columbia (top 5 in selectivity, by the way), who scored a 680 on the MathIIc and a 690 on the Lit. But, from average SAT II data I've seen on these forums, the average score for the SAT II's is a low 700 for those top schools. I would think a 750 would be a strong, beneficial score anywhere (even MIT).
