Math IIC - Horrible Score

I don't get why I do so bad on this one test. I've gotten a 730 in Physics (despite what most CC'ers believe, I think that's a good score), I am pretty good at math, yet I seem to get horrible scores on the Math 2 test. Could it be because I'm in IB Math and so it's been a while since I've done trig?

Pretty much, both times I've taken the test, I do about 40 and leave 10 blank. I am usually sure on about all I've answered with only 2-3 guesses.

First score was a 570 in June, and my October score was a 610. If I can get at least a 700, I will be really happy for this test.

I've used Princeton Review and Barrons. Any suggestions on what I should focus on?

barrons is terrible for this test, I used it and it is way too difficult and irrelevant to the actual problems on the SAT II. I know what you mean about not doing that kind of basic math in a long time. I am a senior and am in calc 3 rite now and I think some of those rules are silly to memorize. What I did was look over the barrons book (even tho it sucked) the day before the test and got an 800. You really should improve your speed and try to answer all of them, and go over anything you are fuzzy by looking it up in an algrebra or pre-cal book and u should break the 700s easily. What math are you in right now?

I'm in IB Higher Level Math (took Calc AB last year). Thanks for the tips. I guess time is the most important since those 10 I leave blank are usually ones I never get to.

barrons is horrible!
last year i got a bad score, and this time i got an 800 by ignorin barrons!
i suggest only using the collegeboard math studyguide, and keep doing those 2 tests. figure out the concepts that you just dont get and review them.

i can never understand probability qtions, so my technique was to just skip any qtion that had probability, and this technique actually worked!

Meylani :)

use sparknotes and princeton review. =D

i don't know but i left 13 blank on the math 2 test and i still got a 760

hey? rly??? that sounds good. btw, i'm using barron's for math2c.

Can you get some extra tutoring, maybe from a teacher? Perhaps it is that the test is timed which is throwing you off? I would practice timed test taking. That might help.
