How hard is it to score above 76 on the ALEKS placement exam?
like do I need to study or can I just take it
My daughter reviewed some math concepts before taking the exam. She finished in 3 hours and scored a 98%
Why are you worried? What happens if you don’t reach 76? Just do math problems over and over.
What happens if you don’t reach 76 is that you can’t take MATH 140 until you score above a 76. Important for engineering majors and some others.
You do have the option to review and retake if you don’t reach 76 on the first try.
Ah, that makes sense! Do you know what kind of problems they test you on? like for a student who will be an Engineering major will they test you on MA140 problems? If that so, then OP should study and practice some calculus 1 problems.
Pretty sure it only tests up through precalc. Some people will not have taken calculus yet. The review modules are called “Prep for Beginning Algebra, Prep for Intermediate Algebra, Prep for College Algebra, Prep for PreCalculus, and Prep for Calculus.”

I just took the exam during my English class on my phone and got a 78, no real need to study
It’s not that difficult, just look up math placement test practice and take some community college’s version to get an idea of what you need to review. I did that a week before I took it and scored a 97, the first 25 or so questions were Algebra and the last 5 were trig related.
Which module did you take?
