Math Placement Question

Okay so i was accepted into UMD as a transfer student, in the letters and science program, so do i need to do the placement exam. Also, i intend to eventually try to enter the supply chain management program, or something in the business program , does that factor into doing or not doing the placement exam. Secondly, a friend of mine who did the exam told me that it is divided into four parts, and that you can do each part whenever you want, for example he did the first part one week the second part another week and so on, is that true, or when you start the exam do you have to do all the parts at once. And finally in my community college i have about 54 credits and did up to pre calc, does that count for something or are you excussed from the exam only if you did calc 1?Thanks for the answers in advance.

The Math Placement Exam is a joke. Most “fails” come from people who try and rush through it. Check out this sample one for example: http://www.math.umd.edu/undergraduate/credit/placement/

Yes, you can take them all in one sitting, or four separate parts. You’ll be given more than enough time.
