math placement!!

my orientation is in less than a week.
I need to score enough to get into precalc....what should I study so I can do this.
I've never taken pre cal before just Algebra 2 my junior year.

I just took some of the practice test and I can’t get through it AT ALL!!
I think I am going to end up in College Algebra :frowning: any help??

I even have a book and look stuff on the internet to help, but I can’t get it! lol

If study guides online dont help, I dunno what to tell you.

EXCEPT: You only need a score of 20 on the test to be accepted in Math 3 (pre calc)

how about math 19A?

You need to score 40. The test is out of 60

so basically I can get 20 wrong…

Yep. Granted, I took the practice test and got 18/40 for some reason (I sort of rushed through it). Shouldnt be too much of a hassle to get above 20 wrong.

do you think the real test is easier?
It seems easy to get 20 out of 60 right!! Now I feel better

I took it today and it was similar to the practice test.

ok so I am reviewing the practice test and I can’t solve this problem. I am really bad with fractions…can anyone help?

3/4x < 4+2x

Wolfram Alpha: **** yeah.
[3/4x < 4+2x - Wolfram|Alpha](<a href=“3/4x < 4+2x ]3/4x - Wolfram|Alpha”>3/4x < 4+2x - Wolfram|Alpha)

thanks!! this helps so much! :D

Does anyone know how the scheduling works for the placement test? I’m getting a ride from my ride and it says the placement test will end at around 4:45. Will people not taking the placement test have something else to do because I am pretty sure my friend isn’t taking it.

If you’re not taking the test, you could go on a campus walking tour, attend the breakout sessions, or catch a college tour. Basically when you go to orientation, you will be given a program that will tell you what the schedule will be like. =)

haha I didn’t study one bit and I haven’t done any math since junior year when I took math analysis which was mostly trig. I scored high enough to place into precalc. It really wasn’t too bad, don’t sweat it.
