Math predicament

Basically last night my grandfather died and I was the only one home with my mom and we both became really upset. This delayed my studying for my math test and I wasn't really prepared. So I took it this morning and I am pretty sure I failed it. I was really difficult and I left a lot of questions blank and struggled a lot. I think I probable got a 60%. I have never gotten a grade this semester in the class lower than an 87% and with finals coming around I am really scared because it would drop my current 93.5 to about an 88.7 which would probably leave me with a B in the class since finals are only two weeks away.

My question is what should I ask my teacher to do? I really can't fail this test and my brain was just too distracted during the test to really focus...Should I ask him if I can take a make up test on Monday or something? Please help I'm really worried.

You should talk to your teacher. If you fail extremely badly, ask your teacher for a retake. If she/he disagrees with the idea of giving you a retake, just tell her the max grade hat you could get will be an 80. That way it is fair but your teacher doesn’t feel like you’re taking advantage of the situation. Your teacher should understand that your grandfather died and give you a second chance. Study for this so you won’t make yourself look like a fool. Good luck :)

Ask for extra credit

^^ “Ask for extra credit” lol

But if you ask your teacher for a retake- explains why, and maybe he/she give you a make-up.

Ask your teacher for a retake. I really can’t see your teacher saying “no.” With someone so close to you dying so recently, I really can’t fathom you thinking about anything else the next day besides your grandfather, least of all a math test.

I’m sorry about your loss.

Thanks for the support everyone. I will ask him for a retake tomorrow.
