Math Preparation for SAT

I am scheduled to take the PSAT in the fall. I will take Geometry but not take Algebra II until the following year? Will this hurt my chances of doing well on the PSAT/SAT?
Math is not my strong area so I'm on a slower math track. My school will allow me to take Geometry and Algebra II at the same time this fall, but I'm not certain that I can handle both.
Do I really need Algebra II to do well on the PSAT/SAT?
Next summer I will take a Testmaster's Review course. This summer I am taking a non-credit Geometry course. The material is easy to understand, but the tests are difficult for me.
Can you advise me?

YES. maybe not totally, b/c the SAT can be taught. but a big chunk of it is Alg.II.

Thanks for confirming what I already suspected. Is there a good way to prepare for the math portion of the SAT when you are not mathematically inclined?

barron's math work book

or

gruber's math work book

these are the two best SAT math books out.
