Is it acceptable to take your math requirement spring session? Will it affect the decision for my applications? I may get a bad grade this semester, so I was considering dropping it and taking the W, so I can take it spring semester with a better grade.

Reach out and ask the UC. They often (usually?) accept it in spring (unless it’s TAG). What you might get is a provisional contract that says something like you need at least a B in the course.
Also → the application says it has to be done by fall? Are you sure? The transfer matrix says to complete English and math as early as possible. There is no fall deadline. I know students who have done both last English and math in spring. (But obviously, the earlier the better.)
Best practice: ask the UC.
