Math score in SAT I for Wharton

Hi!

I have taken the SAT thrice and when superscored I get 2070. My math score is 800 but my CR is only 610. Do I have an advantage because of my Math score? Does it offset the lack in my CR? Because I’ve heard that Wharton cares A LOT about math than CR.

Is this true?

Thanks in advance!

That is a really low score for Penn. It does not offset your CR score. You need to be in the 2200+ range to be competitive at Penn.

Unfortunately, i’d have to say @jarrett211 is right. You are correct that Wharton cares a lot about math more than CR, but that still means that a CR score should still be somewhere in the vicinity of a 700. Try retaking the SAT for a higher CR score. Wharton also cares a lot more about math in that they value the Math 2, not necessarily the Math 1 found on the SAT 1. Although this isn’t a game ender, I’d recommend that you try to boostup your CR score. Best of luck!!!

@jarrett211 @IvyWin Thanks guys but I’ve already taken the SAT thrice and I’ve always been stuck with that CR score for some weird reason. If I take it again, I think it’s gonna hurt my chances. Nonetheless, I’m gonna cross my fingers and hope they get impressed with my essays, ECs and letters. And my school academic performance has been quite good. So I’ll just try my best. Thanks again

No problem! Have you considered the ACT though?

@IvyWin Yes, I’m planning to take it in December. It’ll be helpful only for RD though. But do you have any suggestions for ACT prep because I’ve never taken it…

Buy the Real ACT Prep guide (the big red book). The best prep book by miles

@TheWaffleMan149 Oooh, thanks for that suggestion! I hope it’s available in my country though… Btw, any other test prep tips? Like for essays and stuff?

I would not worry much about the essay since a lot of schools are abandoning it this year, and more in the future. The importance is trending significantly downward, and would not lose sleep over it whatsoever.

@TheWaffleMan149 Oh alright. Thanks again!
