One random question about freshman meal plan; if we get breakfast and dinner Mon.-Thurs., does that mean we don't get lunch at all on those days??? What are we supposed to eat during midday??

you can GO to the marketplace if you want (their lunch is actually surprisingly decent), but lunch always comes out of your food points, basically, so you can eat wherever you want on campus. I usually just ate something quick in my room, or grabbed a salad from Trinity Cafe (the BEST PLACE EVER!).

However, if you don't eat breakfast you can use the meal equivalency thing, and get basically a discount on your marketplace lunch. Of course, this all may be changing...

Did you get the e-mail about the new food system. Starting next year (or maybe this could be done in the past...) students can substitute their breakfast for lunch.

Direct quote:
"The Marketplace will now be open for dinner Friday and Saturday nights so students who miss dinner during the week will have the opportunity to make up unused meals. Hours at the Marketplace will be extended from 5pm until 9pm, and students can use the full value of missed breakfasts towards lunch at the Marketplace. On West, the Great Hall is now open for Sunday brunch."

so if you don't get breakfast, you can get lunch on the board plan...which is perfect for me cause I hate breakfast.

ughhhh. I would have liked making up unused meals. and extended hours. not fair!!

So how many lunches can you get before your food points run out? Does the meal plan (excluding points) only cover breakfasts and lunches on Mon.-Thurs.?

Well, the Marketplace offers breakfast Monday-Friday, and then brunch Sat and Sunday, so basically every morning meal is covered by the meal plan. Lunch at the MP is Mon-Fri as well.

There are different options for food points...I had the cheapest, which was $540, and I found that I had literally $200 left after first semster, but after spring semester that $200+$540 wasn't even enough (let's all just blame this new online ordering thing for my downfall...). It just depends on you and personal preference, so you may run out and you may not. You can always add if you run out, so it's really up to you. I'd suggest the cheapest first semester, and then just adding more later.
