Anyone have good test taking pointers? I usually am a really good student and all other subjects are in the A range but math is currently a C. It's not that I do not understand the material I do. But when it comes times to review the test. I find that I failed miserably, even though I thought I did rather well. And almost right when I get them back I see every mistake.

Do more practice problems in simulated test environments. Make sure you choose problems that are representative of what you have to know and limit the time you have to do them.

Make sure you’re really understanding why your answers are wrong.

^Yes, and don’t be embarrassed to seek help from your teacher.

I got a 78 on my last math test after I thought I got a 105. When I got the test back there were X’s around the problems I missed and no corrections what so ever. I looked at each of the problems I got wrong and without even needing to ask anyone, I instantly could tell what I did wrong for each problem. So I guess I’m not the only bad test taker ^^

I guess the more practice problems you do, the less likely you’ll be to make careless/accidental mistakes that’s all I can say.

At least you have never gotten a B on a math test, despite having every answer right, because the teacher marked you down for not having parenthesis in the first step, then gave you no credit for the rest of the problem because the “first step was wrong.” Rant over.
