I'm not sure if its the right place to ask, but I go to UMCP. It's been over a year since I've taken calc 1 (high school - passed AP), and I tried Calc 2 (because I've changed majors) today, but it's way too difficult b/c I don't remember anything.

What should I do? Should I just re-take Calc 1 again? Though I won't receive credit right?
So that means I gotta take another class to make sure I'm full time?

I've got to wait a while for an advisor appointment =(, so I'm just looking for some relief answers.

yea, if you got ap credit for calc, taking it again would be for no credit. Is there anyway you could get a tutor/review notes/anything to refresh calc 2, if not it seems you are going to be in trouble

I think I'm at the point where I need to relearn everything from scratch, especially since my high school teacher skipped certain parts that weren't on AP exams. It's been 1 and 1/2 years since then =.

Would I still qualify as a full-time student if I take MATH140 again anyway? Would I even be allowed to take it?

Anyway, I've asked some friends about this, they all tell me that I don't need Calculus 1 to take Calculus 2, do I trust them? I mean, I still have some of my high school notes I can look back on I think.

You can edit the forums for 20 minutes...just hit the little blue link.

I would say do you feel comfortable enough...do you have enough time in your schedule that if you need tutoring you can get it? If yes, then take it.

What did you change your major to..is calc 2 mandatory or can you substitute it with Stats or another class?

Also what is your gpa...do you need a certain gpa for a scholarship or to stay in the program(i.e. Smith, Gemstone, etc)...if so makes sure you do feel comfortable before the drop time.
