My prof. only assign even problems most of the time so my solution manual is useless. Is there any place online where I can get the solutions for even asnwers? Im struggling a lot right now

there are two reasons people want the even solutions:

(1) most common - to copy and turn in as homework to get full credit
(2) less common - because they want to know how to do the math

if it’s (2) you’re after, just do the corresponding odd-numbered problem. the question is usually similar in setup and thinking. if you can do all the odds without any problem, the evens won’t be that much more difficult. also, if the even solutions were available to students, then there wouldn’t be any point in collecting it for homework points.

What she said.

I always got a little annoyed when I’d TA a math class and students would just come to me for answers to homework sets during office hours. I was always willing to help show HOW to do a problem, but students would just want a list of answers to the even numbers and nothing else (as if when we graded it, all we did was look at the answers and base credit off that).

If you can do the odd numbers, you can do the evens, too. If you just want a break on your homework, go to OASIS or buy a tutor.

I know that my Math 20A professor does not give points for homework and some of the even problems I consider difficult have no odd numbered counterpart.

Of course, I have a difficult time following my professor’s explanations so I see a lot of tutoring and discussion time in my future.

THAT is the appropriate time to go to office hours. Friendly folks like Oyama are waiting to help out!
