this isnt a big deal. they arent going to line you up and do an inspection. That being said, it is a special day for everyone. I definitely remember mine - so dont dress in such a way that it would spoil it for others

Got my clothes ready. Possible black/white suit if needed although it almost looks like a tux haha. Cant wait.

make sure you have a bow tie to go with it.

a professional pant (black) and on the top a white long sleeve shirt and red/golden tie will work. Otherwise, buy a black coat to dress more formally b/c you can use it for later events as well.

why a red/golden tie??

I don’t think Polobear knows anything about Rice’s matriculation ceremony.

i guess. And you definitely dont need a tie. It is hot as hell out there. and may be damp/humid

No, it will be humid. That’s basically a guarantee.

yeah. and like 90 degrees as well

DO NOT SKIP MATRICULATION! NO NO NO!

it’s one of the most important ceremonies besides Commencement. plus, they take group pictures of your O-Week group that are fun to look back on. so do your best to just bring a nice pair of a pants and a shirt to avoid awkwardness that evening.

i think rymd was joking… has to be

Dorian_Mode: I don’t know about Rice’s matriculation, but when I read about its semi-formal attire in a rice-related website, I thought to contribute. A red/golden tie is just my preference (I apologize I did not include that, but I assumed that ppl would just see is it as a personal comment and not as if it was a requisite)…
