Im an ED acceptee to CAS and am just wondering if there is a limit to the credits that one can take each semester? I know first semester freshman are limited to 18 (or 19). I wanted to know because I'm interested in double majoring in econ and bio. Thanks

econ’s really easy to major in. there’s only 8 or so required classes for the major (although i’m sure there’s prereqs to that too) - i have friends that decided at the beginning of senior year that they wanted to double major in econ and finished it in 3 semesters (and the third was only necessary bc of scheduling errors - not that he wasn’t happy to stay an extra semester with the economy…)

and there’s no limit per se. if you appeal to your adviser and your adviser signs off on it, then you’re fine. i have another friend who took 27 credits my freshman year both semesters (he was a senior though) - and those 27 credits did not include any TA credits.

^ sorry to hijack, but do you get credit for being a TA? I’m applying to be a Psych 1101 TA in the fall, and earning some extra credits for it (on top of getting paid) would be nice.

i think it varies from college to college, or rather, class to class. i don’t have any personal knowledge, as i haven’t been a TA for any class. but i know some of my friends get paid and others get credit for their classes - with automatic A/A+s in the class, boosting up their avgs.

Cool, thanks cc102!
