what is the max number of words for the common app essay? all it has is the minimum..........

I'm wondering the same thing...mine's at 752 words.

mine is like 1500.....

I guess there isn't a limit.............

holy crap. 1,000 words, that's like a novel

Mine so far (with some revisions and what not) is 2782 characters & 628 words.

1000 words is not that large...its like 1.5 pages, I think thats completly reasonable for such an important essay. Its pretty hard to express anything or tell a story in like .5 pages...

Don't feel bad about the length of your essay, mine is 2417 words long.

I thought the common application essay is supposed to be about 500 words. :S

Make it now 676. Anyone care to read?

In the Princeton Supplement, they say, "In addition to the 500-word essay you must write for the common app, we require..." So I suppose 500 words is ideal. 600 - 700 is probably acceptable though.

It should be no more than one page single spaced so 500-700 words are within limit.
