I know for UC's the maximum number of units you could have to be admitted is 70.

1) Does anyone even know the reason for rejecting acceptance based on more than 70 units?

2) What happens if by the end of spring before transfer I have 73 units but 9 of those units are due to AP credit.

Thanks!

sigh lots of people get confused by this stupid unit cap huh…
1> No. A friend of mine got 139 semester units and still got accepted everywhere he applied. In fact, for med and engineering major, having > 90 units at CC is absolutely NORMAL

2> Nothing happens.

You can have $14 trillion units at CC, it doesn’t matter. Only the first 70 will count, the rest will be subject credits (meaning they will still fulfill pre-reqs, but they are not visible on your 4-year school info)

Awesome question and awesome answer. I was wondering the same thing. Hahaha.

max units only apply to those who have attended four-year universities

Like poserbruin said it only applies if you have ever attended a four year university, including online schools that give four year degrees, so if all of your units are from CC then you have nothing to worry about.

$14 trillion units? lol

I’m glad that some of the users on this board are finally becoming knowledgeable about certain admissions aspects. :)
