<p>My son found out at his orientation that he was assigned Maxcy. </p>
<p>Can anyone tell us about Maxcy? I know it's near the horse shoe which is very lucky. I know it's 4 kids to a bathroom which is also very lucky. I know it's the international dorm which sounds pretty neat. </p>
<p>He was hoping for Columbia and is a little bummed. But I am guessing that lots of kids picked the well known party dorm and each building can only house so many students. </p>
<p>Any positives that I can pass on to my son would be much appreciated!</p>
<p>I loved Maxcy. I lived there my freshman year. I had my 8 am M/W/F in Cola Hall and I hated the commute. Everything else was great.</p>
<p>It’s also newly renovated.</p>
<p>There’s also more parking around Maxcy than Columbia Hall. The rooms can be extremely spacious. (Most of them are. A few are teeny tiny.) They also have the largest closets on campus and the closets lock.</p>
<p>Son lived in Maxcy back when it was the Honors College dorm.He had the smallest room in the building, the sizes vary wildly.some are massive. He loved living there, the size of the building was just right not too big not too small.great location and a/v parking especially on weekends.Back then there were flooding problems in basement level rooms but i think thats been remedied.</p>
Any update on Maxcy? How did your son like it? My son was assigned this dorm but it wasn’t even on his list. He is a little nervous about being in the International house…he wanted the business LLC. I think the location would be great. Any comments?
