Ugh… Looks like I may have barely missed the cutoff for 800 (filled in everything, -7 so 81 raw). If I get a 790, do you guys think it’s worth it for college admissions to retake it in June for the 800? I’m fairly certain I got an 800 in Chemistry and Math II.

anyone else borderline 790/800? i think im hovering around 9.5-10 points off right now. do they ever throw out questions for the sat 2 like they do for AP? my blue book had 30ish questions under 40% and 10+ under around or under 20%

heres the full coolidge inaugural speech.

[Inaugural Address (March 4, 1925) - Miller Center of Public Affairs](http://millercenter.org/scripps/archive/speeches/detail/3569)

i still think its progressive and bold due to the last paragraph, which wasnt provided.

I think I also might be borderline 790-800 with 6 wrong, 3 omitted.

That’s exactly what I said!!! So i put encouraged union activities which was C i think!!!

For those who are expecting an 800: what prep did you guys do? What books, other than DH, should one use to achieve an 800?

I took an APUSH class in school. Aside from taking a practice test the night before the exam, I did no review outside of class. I would be surprised if I received anything lower than an 800. As long as you have a good teacher, pay attention in class, and retain information well, you should be fine.

Definitely read through amsco if you have time. Its really not that long if you skip some of the practice questions/historical perspectives/dbqs.

Alright, I appreciate the advice.

The answer was taylorism. The poem was in my us history prep book and the explanation was that it was promoting taylorism.

^ yeah but the question on the test was asking something different. it was asking what it encouraged… in which the correct answer would be union activities

I’m sorry Alex, but that’s very faulty reasoning. The question never asked that. The question asked what did the quote indicate?

The quote said it was written by the EMPLOYERS themselves. Do you think the employers want unionization of workers?

Sure, it wasn’t exactly taylorism, but it emphasized order and a rigid schedule to improve efficiency. Taylorism was the best answer

Does anyone remember what all 5 choices were? That would make it a little easier to come to a consensus for sure

The choices were Taylorism, union activities, nativism, cooperation with workers, and some other thing.

I put union activities but it seems like it has to be Taylorism.

@nostalgicwisdom

I may have read the question incorrectly if the question really did ask what the quote indicated then yes the answer would be taylorism. But for some reason i just remember something about the word encourage.

Yes, there was the word encourage—in one of the answers: “encourage cooperation among workers.” However, this was incorrect because the quote really didn’t deal with cooperation and favored Taylorism.

for anyone wondering about the curve, the official SAT II guide book says you can get an 800 with 79/90

I didn’t do as well as I wanted to, but whatever. With a raw score of 67-70, isn’t the curved score still a 720-740?

Ok, now I’m definitely certain that some people either read the question wrong or forgot what it said. The word “encourage” was not in the answer choice “cooperation among workers”, as even everyone who says the answer was Taylorism knows the choice was “cooperation among workers”. That means the only place the word “encourage” could have been was in the question.

Crossing my fingers that -11 will be an 800 lol :]
