May 2014 SAT Curve Predictions

I thought the passages for this test were easier than March’s, but the vocab was definitely harder than March’s

@PMoney1‌ would that affect the curve? I hope it does…'cause I messed up on the vocab

@wldb15 I believe that the difficulty of the vocab will affect the curve, but probably not as much as the difficulty of the passages because of how little vocab questions there are compared to the passage questions.

I just hope a 49/49 W multiple choice w/ 8 Essay doesn’t translate into a damn 760… I’ll be so annoyed if that happens. That’s become pretty common.

I can’t resist: Just now I stumbled upon a great SAT word, while trying to pick a movie to watch with dinner hahah. (When I saw “jingoism,” I couldn’t define it, but I get partial points because it immediately conjured up, “xenophobia.”)

Guys what about a raw score of 45 to 47 on Maths? How much could it score?
How about an 8 on essay and a raw score of 43 to 45 on the writing section?
And a raw score of 35 to 39 on CR? What do you guys think? Please try to tell me as soon as possible. I am really worried :frowning: I’m an international student and this is my 3rd time taking the SAT, A rough journey I have to admit… I hope for a 1800. Again, tell me what could I possibly score with these number. Thank you :D

hahaha I love the irony.

@Nflpackers96 - In my opinion, coming from someone who consistently scores 0-1 wrong on math SATs, this math section was definitely hard, with about 3 or 4 difficult ones. I’m predicting the curve will go 800-800-780-760. I’m doubtful that many people got perfect 54’s. I myself got a 50-51 (depends on one question) I’m pretty sure, so I’m hoping my prediction is right so that I can swing >750.

@itsajerseything - Again, this test was definitely harder. I don’t know about what specifically you got, because I’m not good at predicting the curves beyond 51 MC right, but I do think you broke 700.

Did anyone else get a CR section with two longish passages? It resembled the ACT and I suspect that it was my experimental passage. I can’t remember, though, did it have vocab or not? I hope it did because I know I messed up on the vocab and I’m praying that it was on my experimental section.

@Nflpackers96 - my experimental was CR. I couldn’t tell which one it was, but they all had vocab.

Okay, that’s good. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that the vocab I missed was on my experimental.

DarachHD - I really hope you’re right. I also believe I got 50-51 and nothing would make me happier than hitting the 750 mark on my third try!

@cbw123 What google document is this? would you be able to send me the link? Thanks!

I felt like throwing up when I saw this… Now understand why everyone is switching to the ACT test.

Charles.

@cbw a bit confused on what that indicates… I understand the test month and year with wether the curve was easy, medium or hard, but what is the problem with it? Does it show any kind of new bad trend?

@al3xisnic0le‌ , the chart shows that most of the tougher curves have been in recent years.

hey u guys no worry about curve man u study hard like korean dongjidul and u get great score ok no curve in sat is all conspiralacy ok

Look at the early years and then the recent years. There appears to be a trend where it is harder and harder to get a high score with the same number wrong.
Thus, the switch to the ACT…

So in math I omitted 2, and am positive I got 2 wrong. There is only one problem I’m not entirely sure I got incorrect or correct. What are good predictions for my score on best to worst based off whether or not I got the guess right?
