I started my own DJ enterprise, legitamite business, have done barmitzvahs, fundraisers, sweet sixteens everything, have two hired people under me</p>

<p>last summer did immersion program in spain to learn language, culture, and an optional leadership program</p>

i go to a very very competitive small public school
and im applying early action to UChi, Notre Dame, and Upenn early so if i dont get into to any of those three i can just find a saftey later?
what would u recommend as a safety?</p>

<p>If you don't want to apply to a "lesser" school, you could find some schools with rolling admissions (UMichigan does this, some other schools on your list might) and apply there, then if you don't get into any of them or your EA schools, look for a safety.</p>

<p>nblazer: from NY, you should be fine with UMich, but you really need to apply now for early response.....for that to be your safety...otherwise, you look good for the rest of your early apps....</p>

ive added duke pratt school and stanford to the list just for the
"why not" applications
is there a good chance ill get into one of the non uMich schools?</p>

<p>all the others are reaches for everybody....and the ones you added are too! you have a good chance, but you definitely need a safety if UMich doesn't pan out....</p>

<p>I have no idea what you want to study and what you are looking for in a school....your list really runs the gammet....</p>

<p>According to the stats, you are a match for alot of your schools. But what the last couple of years has proved is that any school with an acceptance rate of 25% or less is not an automatic match. Your best bet is to find out what your own school's history is with the schools in question, especially for people who applied in the last two years, both ED and RD.</p>

<p>There are many students on CC who had very similar stats to yours last year that were not accepted to the schools on your list. There are also many who were accepted (with possibly lower stats). When you are talking about top schools, there are really no sure things. So many different factors go into the decisions at the top and with 2009 being the most competitive year in admissions, the most prudent students have their safeties.</p>

<p>That being said, how about UWisconsin? Lehigh? and while we are talking about safeties, UMiami (great merit $$), Tulane......I could go on, but you may not be willing to look at these....</p>
