May SAT 2011: CR Section

xtol - i said exuberant as well

It was the color. The entire essay was literally about people of different color showing up. Therefore, every time she looked another direction, the color changed

i don’t get all your reasoning between exuberant… It said that the high schooler wasn’t going back to high school… would that be a reason to be exuberant, excessively happy? and the high schooler was not cheerful to any degree. there was a sense of urgency… answer is agressive.

what was the answer to the vocab question with diatribe in it?

she was flashing and spinning and stuff so i put exuberant

@yoursky
thats exactly how i feel as well, i had a reading experimental but do not remember a green chemist whatsoever

its definitely color

@nspiredone, its also definitely exuberant and not aggressive, if you remember it said she was “flashing” trying to catch everyone’s eyes, according to dictionary.com “flashing” is sudden outbursts of joy, hence exuberant
it did say she was out of high school, but that was just an arbitrary side comment
even if it wasnt, the word “flashing” definitely guarantees that it was exuberant

OH I got the Venice one too! About two different depictions of the city…forget how I felt about that one haha. But I did think the passages were weirdly long for the comparison type section…

Does anyone remember the senator and the investigation committee? they had 'exonerated" as one of the answers??

senator one was castigated…misconduct

i said perplexity b/c she was spinning lol. it was just a gut feeling

ahh i remember that Q…i was down to 2, diatribe and another (B or C i think), i went with the other, how about u?

i disagree… the flashing, trying to get other peoples attentions and the bleak stare of high school is clearly an example of agressive behavior.

does anyone know which cr was the experimental?

aggressive means: characterized by or tending toward unprovoked offensives, attacks, invasions, or the like; militantly forward or menacing: aggressive acts against a neighboring country.

which possibly could fit in the passage if you interpret it that way, but collegeboard would never say that of black people. call it reverse discrimination but i’ve yet to ever see a passage where collegeboard gave a negative impression of a minority. so in this case exuberance would probably fit better

i didnt pick diatribe

is that the castigate one? with the diatribe?

agressive behavior in the sense that he was actively trying to get peoples attentions webster def:marked by driving forceful energy or initiative

She said she looked as if high school had never even existed. She was trying to convey that the girl looks like she just got out of high school, but better. Think about the way you feel on the last day of school.

i believe it’s exuberant celebration
cuz the brief intro of the passage said
it’s easter holiday which obviously is national celebration

I put celebration for that one just most of the passage seemed to describe the people as happy. But, seriously, that question was really hard, I have no idea >.>
Do you guys think the reading curve will be generous?
