Discriminating- (adj.) having or showing refined taste or good judgement

from dictionary.com

why not obscure
it seems to work

Obscure- (adj.) not discovered or known about, uncertain

can also mean: inconspicuous or unnoticeable

doesn't obscure mean like open to more than one decision or something?

then that would mean they aren't able to tell the difference or have too many opinion to decide on one they want to settle on

no i dont think so chronic
i was thinking they could tell even the most obscure differences between the chilis.

no chronic it means the previous two definitions.

i put obscure and now i think discriminating is right, but i still think there's a chance obscure will end up being the correct answer.

IMO discriminating has to be the right answer because the word has to describe the tasters and while the chili may have been obscure, the tasters werent.

I got it wrong anyway cuz I put deferential; I eliminated discriminating right away cuz I immediately thought racist lol. but i'm assuming thats what those SOBs wanted us to think...

haha. but they are obscure tasters if they grade obscurely, arent they? its convoluted and probably wrong but there is a chance - a glimmer of hope! rolls eyes at self

2 Questions on the writing for Seeds of Peace:

Was one of the answers "Around the globe, teenagers..."?

One of them asked what info should be added to one of the paragraphs. Was it more info on how peace is made or where the campers were from? I put the former.

no, that wasnt the answer for the first one. at least, i really dont think so. and the second one, that was one of hte ones i guessed on cause i skipped two and didnt have time to go back thanks to our proctor. but, i think it was about how peace is made. which i think is c. which is what i put.

I put more info on where the campers are from but i suck at improving paragraph questions so u r probably right lol. I put this answer tho cuz in this paragraph they talk about how the camp brought together people from all around the world and only in the next the paragraph do they mention what they do at the camp to promote peace

Oh and this may seem like a dumb question but on the problem 10^ab=10000 a possible value of a could be one, no? the only stipulation was that a and b both be positive integers. it just seems too easy...

I think I chose the countries the campers were from.

what was the answer for #18 on one of the math sections about the number of lines that could be made of out the 6 pairs of points? this was the only math question i omitted and i feel like it was one of the easiest

THink about this way: if no more than 2 points lay on the same line, then the points all make a hexagon. then you can just count the # of different diagonals that can be made from each point. the first point can make 5 lines, the second point 4 lines, etc. Thus, 5+4+3+2+1+0 = 15 lines That's what I put anyway.

I put that the tone was argumentative for the yawning question because he was arguing one point of view: that yawning does not equal sleepiness.

the last grid-in is definitely 1/2. People are only getting 1/8 because they forgot that if the side length of the square is 8, then the x-value is half that or 4. Thus if y=ax^2, then 8=a(4)^2 which means that 8=16a and a=1/2.

It was 15. ooo thats what 10 char means haha

hmmm the last grid in was .5? i got 1/8.. i was pretty sure the coordinate in which the parabola was on was (8,8)..

.i also think the tone for the yawning was argumentative.. the key word is TONE, if it was informative it would have been more formal. he used anecdote and his own opinion for this passage, informative would not be arguing a common misconception

wasn't 8,8 for sure

godot, what were teh other choices besides the countries the kids were from?

I also put the countries they were from. I do well at Writing (I got 800 last time) so I think that is right. It made sense because it was more specific and backed up a previous statement.

Also, I put "it brought kids together from conflicts all over the world." My reasoning was that it can't be "all over the world, it brought...." because the camp didn't bring together kids all over the world (it only brought them to one location). Rather, the kids were brought "from (conflicts) all over the world."

a was 1/2 the coordinate was (4,8)
