May SAT II Physics Discussion

and yes definitely 0, it was constant velocity that was like Q 72-73 ish?

That was 25%

Yeah I got 90 I remember that now. I put 0 for airplane. The elevator was constant velo. Shoot. I thought it was constant accel. And I got 18 for the one you’re thinking of. So I think I put 36 hahaha

Yes, could someone state what the airplane question was?

Efficiency would be 200/600 = 1/3, wouldn’t it?
OH MY GOD.
Did they mean total was 800, so 200/800?!
I thought it meant that after 600 was absorbed, only 200 was used!

@Andy, I said 0 as well, it was for net force…

it’s moving at a constant velocity at level height… upward force is canceled by downward
and drag is canceled out to… *since its at constant velocity)

did we all get efficiency of 25%?

it was 8000 input 2000 output or whatever. so 25%

No I got 2/6 . . . 33% . . . noooo.

Please, someone say what the airplane question was. I’m afraid I skipped this page by accident and want to see if I remember it or not.

Any more questions u remember? feeling pretty bad on this test after doing good on sparknotes and barrons

I’m pretty sure the efficiency problem had an 8 not a 6, right?

it was 25%, work input was explicitly stated as 8000 J for the negativelt charged particle on question 6 was it just the kinda circular diagram with all arrows pointed away?

that’s what I put. What was the plate answer?

if we had the same exams… i’m not sure are they always the same copies?

the airplane one asked for the net force (i believe…w/e it was i’m sure the answer was 0)

i remember a lot of them actually but i want to confirm them as we go.

Also about the question with 2.5kg and 5m/s , what did u guys put, I put 12.5 but think it was wrong

the plate is with arrows pointing up

hb the question it said 150N block lifted with 180N force what is the acceleration? like .5, 1, 1.2, 2, 10

I had that but changed it, oh well

A negatively charged particle has arrows pointing inwards.
The plate one was the one with a bunch of arrows pointing upwards, in a line.

It said that it was out of 800 J total? Either I didn’t see that, or I put 25% and I don’t remember. Unfortunately I think it was the former.

The net force on an airplane at constant velocity?
Does anyone remember any other questions on the same page?

For the 150 block I put 1.2. Now when I calculate it though, I get 12. . .
Isn’t it F=ma, a = F/m = 180/15? (Not 150 because weight is 150, so mass is 15).

negative charges have fields pointing in
