Maybe I had a bad day

I keep remembering my dad saying, "Don't buy products made on Fridays." Maybe we got an admission's rep who had a friday attitude. Overall, I think that CMU is a terrific school with terrific programs. I do also agree that they have clean, maintained facilities. However, the $32,000 price tag for tuition alone does make me gulp!

It's just money?

(he said to the "tax guy")

Jkolko:LOL :)

CMU does have some great fine arts programs. We were impressed with the music performance major, the facilities and the general air of creativity around campus. But, not for a total bill of $43K plus 6% per year (or whatever the annual increase is supposed to be). Too bad they're not more generous with need or merit aid.

FWIW, we also encountered a couple of reps that were uninformed or seemed to have an attitude. It probably does depend on who you get.

Keep in mind that Reps aren't getting a commission for selling you on the school. The incentive for them to be up to date and accurate is low, very low.

Isn't that their job? Shouldn't they be representing the school and acting as a liason for prospective students? Really, I thought this was exactly their job. I guess they don't embrace Andrew Carnegie's philosophy of "My Heart is in the Work". If I decided that I didn't care about my customer groups at the hospital where I work (patients, families, nurses, doctors, etc), I'd be shown the door...pronto.

I hear you but facts are facts. Lots of reps don't do the job for very long or like it very much.......others of course do the exact opposite.
