I am so excited to see how much Mayor Bloomberg supports his alma mater! I feel so lucky that my son is able to attend JHU thanks to the Bloomberg scholarship! Pretty exciting times for Johns Hopkins.

The admission office did a really great job by admitting Mr. Bloomberg more than 50 years ago who, by his own account, was not a star high school student. He turned out to be a great college student and went on to achieve great things.

350 Million Dollars.

$350,000,000.

This number is astonishing.

Johns Hopkins is extremely blessed to be given such an enormous and generous gift for research, professors and scholarships. I am sure it will be used for the betterment of society at large.

Bloomberg is a Mensch, many of my dear friends were only able to study at JHU because of Bloomberg. He has always had my vote for mayor and JHU can help change the world with his generosity.

My understanding is that $100 million of the gift will go toward Bloomberg need-based scholarships over the next 10 year. Does anyone know if that starts this year? Of so, then if the average scholarship is (just guessing) $25K, then $10 million per year would mean 400 more students would get scholarships (though not all of them freshman). Right?
