Mayor's Scholarship Question

Hi I'm a philadelphia resident which means that I would be eligible for the Mayor's Scholarship. When reading the scholarship brochure I noticed that one of the criteria for consideration for the scholarship to fit the criteria for admittance into the institution. I applied to Penn RD and I know that they announce decisions in April usually. But, the Mayor's Scholarship applications are mailed out in February to students who fit the criteria. The application is due by March 15, which is still before the RD notification. My question is: if you are considered for the Mayor's Scholarship, are you notified of your acceptance to Penn before April?

nope, you won't see the result of the mayor's scholarship until you get your financial aid package I think. Also, that scholarship is done almost exclusively based on need, which much be pretty large; the academic requirements are definitely secondary.

Anyone who applies from Philly will get the Mayor's scholarship application, so fear not. Then when they have their masterlist of accepts they'll look for those to give the scholarship to.

While there are a lot of scholarships not everyone from Philly gets it. I didn't get it while some students in my HS ranked lower and with worse SAT's than me did. Bah!

But it's okay I pay $00.00 to go to Penn anyway.
