mba in accounting

mba in accounting vs. mba in finance?
whats the diffrent what can u do with each one of them??

Most go for finance because of investment banking, but usually a CPA is good enough if you want to do accounting.

graduate, get a job and think about it for a few years before you even consider a MBA.
you’ll quickly realize a MBA isn’t for everyone.

I have met quite a few people who got their CPA and there MBA with a concentration in Finance. If your focus in the MBA is Corporate Finance you will learn a lot about valuation, corporate financial structure, M&As, etc. These topics aren’t typically an area of expertise for CPAs so it helps give them a more strategic feel for finance.

The overall opinion seems to be that it is not necessary to take this path, but it can help. The added knowledge gained in an MBA in Finance with a focus in a Corporate Finance can help a CPA transition in to industry. You should take in to account the cost of attendance as well as lost wages from attending a full-time program.
