MBA vs. EMBA

I finished my BA polisci (Copenhagen Uni) this summer and I'm now taking the two-year MPA at LSE.

At the same time, I'm becoming more and more certain that I want work in the private sector afterwards (I'm doing a consultancy internship this summer). Therefore, at some point (I'm guessing 3+ years after graduating from LSE), it would probably be advantageous to take an MBA (and fun as well, I reckon).

But, having already taken a two-year master, I don't want to take another two-year programme. So, have to choose between one-year MBA's or Executive MBA's. Do you guys know what are the main differences? Mainly in terms of future career opportunities. What should one go for??

And perhaps more specifically, what are the very best (E)MBA programmes in the US that don't last for two years?

Usually the EMBA programs are for older professionals who are already in management positions who want to get MBAs. From the EMBAs I've seen at Anderson, they're usually in their 40s or older. This is different than the FEMBAs (fully employed MBA), who are usually younger, maybe in their late 20s-early 30s and are lower management but not executive level yet.

also, ive heard that EMBA programs are "part time." my dad (who lives next door to CEIBS((aka 22 in the world)) in shanghai) said they have class once per fortnight (aka 2 weeks).

i dont even think you CAN take emba... isn't it for executives who want to brush up on their schooling or something? its not like something for new graduates

then again what do i know, im only a hs senior!!~
