So I'm taking MCB 102 right now with Krantz, and I was wondering if anyone who has taken this section with him can tell me whether reading the book is worth the effort? I've read the first few chapters up to Fatty Acid Metabolism. But toward the end he is going through a chapter per lecture and I was wondering if it would be a better idea to spend my time on his powerpoints and skip reading the book altogether?

is he really going through a chapter/lecture? I stopped going last Monday…

Yes read the book! It’s not just memorizing a bunch of conformations. Knowing how they all fit in together in the body is going to be important at the end of the section.

Check out figure 15-41 in Lehninger. We had to know all of it and what it meant for our metabolism midterm. It helped to read the book so that I didn’t memorize that (I got an A :D).

I feel like I’m gonna be boned for this test. Reading his reviews online just makes me think of the all the kind of bizarre questions he could ask and I don’t even have the mechanisms down, let alone calculations.

it’ll be a bonerrific, bonestravagant, bone-anza.
