Does anyone think that Presti goes on tangents a lot? I've heard good comments about him but I guess I don't get what the hype is all about. Does buying the ASUC notes help when studying for the class? Because I don't think I can write down everything he says so I might buy the notes just in case. Has anyone else taken this class?

I took it two years ago and found him to be a little over-hyped. I found the material to be a lot more interesting than he was. And yes, he does tend to go on tangents sometimes. Also stops mid lecture to drink “the elixir of life” for longer than it should take anyone to have a sip of water.

I bought the notes and that sort of saved me because I would always fall asleep in lecture, so my notes were terrible. I think if you take pretty good notes though, you shouldn’t buy them.

Hey–does anyone know if you really need the textbook for this class? I’m taking the online course over the summer and would rather not pay $70 for a book I’ll use for a month. Thanks.

The textbook helps, but he mostly tests based off of the stuff he says in lecture. He usually lets you get the older edition of the textbook, which is much cheaper. I would advise getting it just because some of the figures in the textbook are really helpful.
