McCain plagiarizes wikipedia

lol on this page there is even an ad in the upper right corner asking which candidate ranked 894 out of 899 in college. This by itself, should show that McCain is not cut-out to be President especially when we can have someone as sharp as Obama. Ugh, but again olgita, I think those of us who care about these things are in the minority.

McCain = George Bush III... A senile old coot with no new ideas and big oil firmly behind him. More of the same!

he wasn't basing his foreign policy on wikipedia. the parts that he used were simply facts. i don't care if he got the statistics from some harvard journal or wikipedia, because the facts are what they are.
the (allegedly) plagarized portion wasn't some bloggers opinion of what we should do. it was unopinionated information.
i'm not saying that this is by any means a good thing, but i don't think it's that big of a deal. somebody should be fired, but this doesn't reflect upon McCain himself.

besides, if you're voting based on foreign policy, mccain has far more credentials than obama. i'm not a fan of either, but I think the press tends to blow stupid small things way out of proportion, and i think this is one of those.

Hahahaha... McCain prides himself on not knowing how to work a computer- he doesn't even know what Wikipedia is, so it would make sense that he wouldn't know if his staffers are copying and pasting from it.

And I don't care if they're the facts, Wikipedia is a terrible terrible source. If you can't use it in a high school paper, chances are you shouldn't use it in a speech that huge numbers of people will hear. Someone should seriously be fired. But I won't blame in on McCain- not voting for him for other reasons.

[humour]
Given that the facts are generally well-known, I don't think plagiarism is a warranted charge even if it definitely apparent that Wikipedia was used by the speech writer.

"It certainly looks like his speech writer used Wiki, but I don't think it warrants a plagiarism charge since it contains facts that are generally available elsewhere."

I used to think this campaign was a joke, but even jokes can credit their sources.
[/humour]
The above little piece of humour aside, I'm going to grant some bona fide to this highly supported candidate in a well-esteemed democratic process: I'll get off their backs about the wording; it could have been a coincidence. We should be criticizing McCain for the lies with which he has been saturating media.

Wrong. McCain was spectacularly wrong on the most critical American foreign policy issue since Vietnam. I'm talking about Iraq, of course.

And don't talk about the goddamn surge. We wouldn't have even needed it if there were less McCains in the White House and Congress in the first place, and the army would have 4000 fewer KIAs.
