McComb School of Business Chances - RD??

I was just wondering what my chances are at getting into McComb School of Business as a regular decision international applicant. Here are my stats..

SAT I - 1320 (Math: 700, Verbal: 620)

SAT II - Math IIC: 660, Physics: 730, Writing: 570

My extracurriculars include sports teams, community service projects and other events such as rock concerts and performance art productions..

Also, I am from Fiji.. I heard it helps if you are from a Pacific Island country?

I believe that for McCombs, ur class rank will be very important. What was ur class rank?

class rank was 2. we don't have gpa unfortunately.

i also did 6 IB subjects - physics:6, chemistry:6, math:5, geography:6, japanese:4, english:5

Taking into consideration ur class rank, If you were in/out of state you would have a very good chance. Being international, unfortunantly I do not know whether this increases or decreases your chances for UT. Either way, you have at least a decent chance.

My school doesn't rank, so does that hurt my chances for McCombs?

My S's school doesn't rank either. UT describes what they do about that on their website. I think that if your school provides enough information that they can work out an informal ranking and you rank well, or if they are satisfied one way or the other that your school is highly competitive and you've done well (good grades, SATs, etc.), it won't matter. I do think you have to wait until they fill out the 75% or so they reserve for the top 10% before you're accepted though.

Okay, thanks

Yea, my school is pretty competitive, I had my guidance counselor call and explain why they don't rank

I guess I have to hope for the best now, UT is my #1 school

Hi jype. I have some McCombs' admissions statistics here....for Fall 2003, there were 386 foreign apps and 10 were admitted. Competition is very tough as you can see, but hopefully your rigorous curriculum and class rank will make you stand out in the applicant pool.

I wish you the best of luck.
