I am having a pretty tough time choosing between McCombs School of Business at University of Texas at Austin, the Freeman Business school at Tulane, and the George Washington School of Business at George Washington University. I am planning to major in finance. Which B. school is better in terms of reputation, job networking, quality of studies and professors and the finance program prestige in the US. Also I understand Tulane has the core curriculum deal that takes about two years to finish. As opposed to UT and GWU, would that be harder to finish undergraduate studies since UT and GWU go straight to the business curriculum?

George Washington is average in the first tier. Tulane is a pretty good program from what I know, and UT is a nationally recognized business program. For the tangibles, UT is best. But, the fit of the school is also very important.

^^ I got into all three… (Well not necessarily tulane business because you don’t declare your major until after sophomore year but I got into the school)

UT has, undoubtedly, the best overall business program. Tulane is good as well.

With everything else being equal, I would give UT the advantage because…

a) local recruitment in Austin and other Texan cities far surpasses the local markets in Louisiana.

b) In my opinion, four year business programs are preferable to two year programs. You can gain business skill sets early on, which makes you more competitive for internships down the road.
