Is Investment Management (Finance Major) hard at McCombs? What is the easiest major at McCombs?

I don't think finance is considered as hard as accounting, but somewhat of a challenge. I would say, by word of mouth only, that marketing is the easiest major.

For me to double major in finance & accounting, how does that work? Will it take me more time to graduate? Or does the school just cut down on my elective hours so that I can do the double major?

I would imagine a double major in finance and accounting would have a lot of similar classes, but I am purely speculating this. If some of the classes are the same, it would make things easier and not take as long, but it will probably still be difficult to finish in 4 years.

If you are coming in with a semester or more of AP or dual-credit, you could probably finish in 4 years.

If your first major is accounting and your second is finance, you will need seven more 3-hour classes to graduate to add the second major in finance (21 hours).

double majoring in finance and accounting isn't too hard to do because like someone said above, they have similar pre-reqs, and if you can test out of certain entry courses that will help you even more.

its a great combo, i've seen a bunch of kids who go into i-banking or the financial analyst program do this.

Ya, thats why I want to do it.

kcirsch - my 1st major would be finance...would that make a difference?

what about double majoring outside mccombs? Engineering, Journalism, architecture, math....where do you find out the classes you need to fulfill your secondary major?

Instead of just asking so other people can find it for you, go to each individual college's website and start searching for each major's requirements!

Every major has listed somewhere on its website a pdf of all the requirements.
