<p>I jsut got accpeted to McDaniel and will be going up for admitted students day on Sunday. Is anyone else going? I am looking at the dual major in music and theatre (musical theatre) and or psychology. How are the dorms? Also what kind of kids does the college attract? I have heard rich, and preppy , which kind of concerns me, but we shall see. I got rejected at my top choice school, and am now looking at my other choices, but I really do like what I have read in CTCL. It is not in Princeton , nor does it have its own forum on CC, so kind of hard to garner info. on.</p>
<p>Defying, one of my daughter's HS friends attends McDaniel, and she is never rich nor preppy...so there's at least one student who doesn't fit the rep you've heard :D. She absolutely loves McDaniel and is very into music and theatre, although I think she's actually majoring in political science. I'll see if my daughter can contact her before Sunday and get some more "scoop" for you.</p>

<p>My son is a second semester freshman at McDaniel. We're not rich by any means. However, there is a contingent (probably like at most schools) that have lots of money and live large. McDaniel defies being labeled...it has a broad range of types, interests, and backgrounds. Definitely not preppy. Some kids are fun and laid back; other kids are very driven and self-absorbed. There are kids all along the continuum. DS really likes it. School has great rep in music and theatre...many of my son's friends engage in that. Psychology professors are well-regarded. Overall, CTCL assessment is right on target. It's a very interesting place...a gem. Dorms range from very good to so-so (like most schools, the money is in the academics and the expansion). McD really wants its students to succeed. If you have specific Qs, pls post them or PM me. I'd be happy to try to put you in touch with willing students there to help you out.</p>
