McGill Chances - high school class of 2020

I am a rising junior in high school in the USA, and I wanted to check in on my chances for my dream school early on in the process…
PSAT 10: 1180
GPA: 3.7
Core classes this year: AP English, Hrs chem, Algebra 2, US history
Core classes next year: AP English, AP physics or bio, pre-calc, civics

I would like to major in kinesiology, for which I know the requirements are posted online, but I just wanted an actual person with McGill experience to check in with. Should I double up with any classes? I have an option to take AP Gov next year rather than civics— would it be helpful if I did that instead?

I heard McGill doesn’t care about extracurriculars, but I’ll list them anyway…
Cross country team all of high school
Model UN
Horseback riding
Volunteering at a barn
Horseback riding instructor (paid)

Special past stuff…
I move about every 3 years, and that sounds like a good thing to use in the essays and to explain why I may not be as advanced as I could have been.

So, just let me know any tips or suggestions for how to improve, or just my current chances!

McGill is literally only going to care about your unweighted GPA for academic classes and your SAT/ACT scores. They don’t weight scores and do not care about ECs. They will update the minima from this past year in the next month or so.

I echo what @SwimmingDad said, and go further to say that you are possibly doing yourself a disservice by taking AP classes when you could get higher grades in regular honors classes. Like he said, APs are not given higher weight.

However, if you’re counting on AP credit to shorten your travel time to graduation then by all means take those classes.
